Michigan must improve high school counseling

Most Michigan high school grads received little guidance from their parents in putting together class schedules, planning for college or choosing a career, and at school they had to line up with 400 other students for a turn with the high school guidance counselor. Nearly 30 percent of the high school students said they felt their teachers didn't care about them, according to a survey by the Your Child organization.
